Multi-Media, Oils
Debbie Hutcherson, is a self-taught Artist who enjoys bright, vivid colors and the inspirations that Eastern NC and the Outer Banks at the Crystal Coast inspire. Debbie has always loved to create and design through drawing, fabric and yarn as other media but has really focused on painting with Oils and Multi-Media mediums over the past 10 years. She has North Carolina and Tennessee Mountain roots that extend their influence on her paintings as well. She has taken numerous workshops and classes and has solicited individual mentoring by other talented coastal artists in the Beaufort, NC area.
She is a member of the Oil Painters of America, the Wildlife Artists of the Carolinas, the Beaufort Historical Society, the Wilmington Art Association and a board member of Arts of Beaufort. Her work is displayed in local art shows and shops, and is a juried member of the Mattie King Davis Gallery in Beaufort. She was recently juried into the 44th Annual Juried Spring Show & Sale as part for the Wilmington Azalea Festival 2026. Debbie has also been an illustrator working with a local Children’s Book Author. You can find her illustrations in “Bubba the Naughty Poodle” and she was recently commissioned to create an image for the Beaufort Woman’s Club 2nd annual ornament sale.
Recently retired from the corporate world, her focus has intensified on her love and passion for painting, learning new skills and technics to apply to her paintings and creating new work. She is thrilled and excited about this part of her artistic journey and growth as an artist as well as the opportunity to share what her coastal surroundings inspire. Having the opportunity to have someone own and enjoy some of her work is a thrill and helps to spur her passion to create.
