My interest in the arts began as a young girl who fell in love with ballet. I became a ballet teacher and had my own studio for many years. After settling in Southport, I fell in love with photography when my husband and I started a boat tour business 7 years ago. Southport has so many photographic opportunities from the sunsets, wildlife, ships and pink moons. My passion grew with experiencing the wildlife, their environment and how they interact with each other. I love to capture the moment so the memories will remain.
I became a member of Artisans Gallery on Howe in Southport and I am thrilled to be an Up Your Arts Pole Banner recipient this year, where one of my pieces is hanging downtown from May-November. After following Wildlife Artists of the Carolinas and visiting the “Wild and Free” exhibit, I knew I wanted to be among these great group of artists. I look forward to sharing my work and being a part of WAOTC.
